LCBOE AASB Achievement Award Recognition

Linden City Board of Education's board members attended the Annual Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB) District 2 meeting on Wednesday, September 7, 2023, at Wallace State Community College (Selma). Six school boards, including the Linden City Board of Education, were awarded a plaque for each of their achievements in School Board Member Academy Team Training.  Linden City School Board members, who were present to receive the honor, were as follows: Dr. Timothy Thurman, superintendent, Mrs. Dorothy Gamble, president, Mrs. Glenda Hayes, vice president, and Ms. Ola Ford.  Other board members include Ms. Mitzi Gates and Mrs. Lillie Tate.

Board Member Ola Ford is also one of two finalists in the running to be elected as the Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB) District 2 president.  The election will be held on October 31, 2023.

For school board members, AASB's "school" offers continual training on essential governance, legal, and education topics. Members of school boards are immediately registered in the School Board Member Academy and given notice of in-person and online opportunities for leadership development.

We congratulate each of our school board members for their countless hours of service and dedication to the faculty, staff, and students of the Linden City School District.
