Operation Save Teens

Children in schools are facing more dangers in schools today than adults did when they were in school.  To help address the seen and unseen dangers, Linden City Schools was honored to have Mr. Michael “Mike” Reese to speak to the students.  Alabama Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Board Lt. Mike Reese, with Operation Save Teens, provided a presentation to students at George P. Austin Jr. High School and Linden High School on December 11, 2023. The presentation provided an age-appropriate education and awareness program (Operation Save Teens) designed to educate youth on the inherent dangers of alcohol and drug abuse, motor vehicle safety, and other self-destructive trends. There was also emphasis put on the importance of making good choices and choosing the right friends. Throughout the program, students viewed images and videos of the real-life consequences that can result from one wrong choice.  Lt. Reese reminded the students that their lives matter and they should mean more than “a lot” to them. Each life should mean EVERYTHING to that person!  Parents, please continue to talk to your children about making good choices.
