LES Recognition Pic

The Alabama State Department of Education annually recognizes schools for their achievements under the Legislative School Performance Recognition Program. Linden Elementary School has earned this recognition and is being honored this year as a Legislative School Performance Recognition Program School.

Linden Elementary was awarded this distinction because, for the 2022–2023 academic year, its letter grade of a "B" and system score of an 83 on the state report card qualified into one of two categories. These categories include schools that show exceptional performance by ranking in the top 25% of public schools according to the school grading system, as well as schools that show exemplary progress by moving up one or more letter grades in the school grading system's overall annual ranking.

Each category's top 25 schools receive recognition and a monetary award. The superintendent of the school district and the principal of the school have been invited to be recognized at the February State Board Meeting, which will take place in the Gordon Persons Auditorium in Montgomery, Alabama, on February 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

We extend our congratulations to Mr. Richard Bryant, the faculty, and students of Linden Elementary School for their hard work in earning this prestigious distinction and recognition on behalf of the Linden City Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Timothy Thurman.
